I bought this to add some light to my boat dock. I wanted something that was relatively dim when there was no motion and bright enough to see if someone walked onto the dock. I have other brighter solar powered lights for sidewalks, etc – but for my dock, keeping the light level low and pointed downward is important. The simple answer is that it is perfect for this application. It is light enough that I was able to add an extension to my dock post to get it 10 feet into the air and the light points downward so it does not ruin my or my neighbor’s night-time view of the lake. You can see all this in action in a video I made showing the low-level and brighter level. All around perfect.

I liked the orientation of the product when I found it. Motion detection is fine and it’s brightness however under normal use, brightness is underwhelming. I’ve taken it down, maybe it will be fine for a walkway light.
