   It’s not charging, the one I resenly purchased are not charging. They been in the sun for over 5 hours but not lighting. Question: how long will it take???

   We wanted something to light up the back of the house near our shed and just one of these lights is bright enough to do just that. It worked right out of the box, but we sat it out in the sun all day to fully charge it. We nearly blinded ourselves when it came on at night. The motion sensor picks up movement from across the yard, which works great for our shed area because we come around the back of the house from the opposite side of the yard and it senses we’re there and turns on to help light our way. It stays on long enough for us to unlock the shed, go inside and turn on the light. We hung it on the house with industrial Velcro so we didn’t have to drill holes in the house. Time will tell if that holds up or not in the Arizona heat. We plan to install another one on the opposite corner of the house so together they’ll light up our entire backyard (it’s not a huge yard). The photo I included shows how bright it is at night with just our neighbor’s string of Edison style bulbs lighting up the side of our house. Update… One of the lights stopped working after a year of use. We took it down and it started working again. We hung it back up and it stopped working. We have no idea why hanging it on the house would make it stop working. We just leave it on the ground by the patio door and it gives us a little light near our feet. It still gets sunlight to charge by. That has worked out okay for us so far.

   I used this product to light up a small path that leads from our front to the back yard via a small side yard. There is no way to run electricity out there without incurring enormous costs so solar is the next best thing. The great thing is these lights are very bright and do just the trick. They are a medium size I’d say as I have smaller decorative ones elsewhere in the back yard and larger ones on the other side of the house; these are right in between those sizes. With a full day’s charge of direct sunlight you’ll be impressed with how bright these are and how much of a space they light up due to the angled nature of the lights. Of course being these are solar powered if you incur a day or two without bright sunlight you may have dimmer nights. One negative in my book is the power and mode button (they’re one in the same) is located on the back of the light. This means that once you install it to a fence with the included screws, like I did, you then realize you have to remove the screws to pull the light off to turn the light on. Only you’re probably installing these during the day light, also like me, and the light sensor on these prevents the lights from coming on when it senses light. So then you have to awkwardly tuck your head in your shirt and stick the light inside the bottom of your shirt to hide it from the light to know what setting you’re on. LoL!. You’ll get it all figured out no problem, but it would be nice if the button was just right on the front like the other lights I have (other brands). Not a deal breaker, just something to know about.

   I don’t know why I didn’t get these sooner but they are so easy and so practical to light up spaces that need brightening at night. The motion detector is great and stays on for the perfect amount of time. Very pleaseed with this purchase.

   We have these above every doorway, and even spaced out along the back of the house. They work fabulous when activated. The range is not very long, so it will click off, which ends up being OK, if something, like, maybe an outdoor cat, sets it off. We have one above our garage door and if that clicks on at night, it can be a little bright coming through the bedroom windows, but the timer is brief.

   Only a bracket is needed to position the light without obstruction of the roof drip edge flashing. This was in my case . I designed a bracket to to avoid it and have the solar cells charge properly.
