This VIANIS Dusk-To-Dawn was a replacement for my light post light, which was not dusk-to-dawn. It was easy to put together, and install.
The photocell sensor is working as expected. I first tested it by covering it with my hand, and the light came on. When I removed my hand, the light turned off. Now that it is installed and in use, when it gets dark out, my light comes on. When it gets bright out, the light turns off. It seems to be working perfectly.
It has a nice appearance, and despite the design elements, not much light is blocked by the metal accents.

As my headline states, the item I received was poorly manufactured. I’m not sure if you can see from the first picture, but the housing arrived bent. It’s one thing if an item is damaged in transit, but closer inspection of the fixture (picture #2) reveals that this item was actually cast bent. Any attempt to straighten the bend was fruitless as that part of the fixture is very solid, returning to the fact that it was manufactured that way and sent out to the consumer.

This lamp was selected to replace another mounted on a pillar and no longer working. It took a little work to stabilize the light on the rock pillar but once that was done hook up easy. This light is large and striking. I have other Vianis outdoor lights and have been happy with them all. The dusk to dawn feature is new to my setting and I prefer it over needing to remember to turn the lamp on and off each day. The casing appears water tight. The fixture allows for a 100w lightbulb so the amount of illumination is good. The scrollwork design is very pretty and provides extra charm to the lighting. I am happy with the selection.

I have a solar powered post light at the entrance to the driveway and this wired will now go at the end closer to the house. It is really easy to assemble and just as easy to install. A word of caution, handle the glass insert carefully I just happen to hit the glass on the side of the housing and the glass now has a crack the runs from top to bottom. I can still use it as long as it doesn’t break in two. It doesn’t come with a bulb but you get the necessary hardware for install.

Very pretty to look at, gives bright light, comes on dusk to dawn! Uses LED bulb to save money with low, low wattage but super bright light. This is a WIRED lamp and NOT solar, which is fine since the wattage of bulb you can use is literally pennies a day to run it from dusk to dawn. We figured out using an online wattage calculator our monthly wattage for all our outside lights and for a total of 80 watts a night (we have about 10 lights and each is an LED of 8w each). It costs us about 7 bucks a month to run all those lights. Thus, it is under a dollar a MONTH to run this lamp with an 8w led bulb from dusk to dawn. And because this comes on and goes off automatically, you don’t have to worry about it burning brightly during the day. All metal light and real glass. Easy install but it is a wired lamp, so if you don’t know how to wire or replace this light, you need to get an Electrician. Still worth the money and more. Priced right, too. I love this light and it shines so brightly. Real security assurance to have it this bright. Love it. Highly recommended. : )
