   They last all night with a very nice flickering orange light. I bought eight and spread them out a bit, then ended up buying eight more for the back yard. They’re lining paths, hung in trees, on the pergola, on the porch, they look great anywhere.

   We purchased two originally to see how they looked and we loved them. They charge quickly and the flame is realistic and bright. We have since purchased an additional 6 sets to place around our property. Looks amazing at night when they all come on. Very happy with our purchases. Additional comment: We took these in the first winter and then put them back out in the Summer. We got lazy the next year and left them out. We live in the north, so the winter days are short and so were the light cycles of the lanterns. Once the days lengthened, so did the light cycles and they are going strong after at least 4 years (I think). Still love the way they look. Other folks have purchased them from seeing them in our yard. Would buy them again in a minute!! July 2021. Still going strong!! May 2023 – Still going strong!! Love these lanterns! April 2024. All are still going strong. Love these lanterns!!! Have left them outside every winter.

   I hope you can clearly see my pics and video of these lanterns as words just don’t do them justice. Mine arrived quickly and intact. Directions say to turn to “on” before charging, but there’s only a tiny button to push and there is no way to really tell if it’s “on” or “off”! I just put them out in the sun and only one lit up after a few hours and I thought I had a dud. HOWEVER, the other one finally ‘came to’ a bit later and they are both amazing! I gave 4 stars because of the confusion of the on/off situation, and because there is no way to get inside the lantern to clean the glass which is a bummer. You can’t really have too many of these though! I ordered one set along with iron hooks to hang on 4×4 wood posts flanking the entryway to our fire pit courtyard and they are perfect! We get a TON of heavy wind here in the Pacific Northwest and I have never even taken them down in the wind. Highly recommend!!

   This is just another 5 star update for TomCare solar lanterns. We had our second hot day of summer and had a power outage (thanks PG&E) so when this happens I bring my solar lanterns into the house for extra lighting. I put them in the hallway, bathroom and kids bedrooms (yes I have that many and because I finally lost a couple that I had since Covid lockdown I’m going to order more). So I wanted to give another high five to TomCare for helping us out during these pesky power outages. Original review: I just got them yesterday and out outside to get the sun. At dusk I went to turn on but they only turned on when turned upside down. I realized it was because my hand was on top of solar panel so it signaled it was dark. Duh!!! Anyway put them out and as soon as it was dark enough they came on. Amazing!!!! I’m going to get more. They look like little flickering lamps. Can’t speak to longevity yet and as far as warmth I gave it 5 stars because they LOOK warm….not actually warm to touch😂. Our yard has faint yard lights and I needed some pops of light and these are just what I needed.

   These are the coolest, toughest solar lanterns I’ve ever owned. I love the life-like flicker that feels like real flames. I’ve had them for more than a year and they’ve been in all kinds of weather. We even had an ice storm and a limb fell on one and it went flying but I picked it up the next day and it was not damaged and still works. Love these! Going to get some as a housewarming gift for a loved one.
