   These dock lights are beautiful, actually very stunning visually. They put off a ton of light and they put off in a color that is pleasing but not offsetting. They do have one major issue, and that is either too much energy consumption or the charging is too little for the battery. This second idea would imply a poor-quality solar panel possibly. What behavior we are seeing is they can’t make it even halfway through the night before depleted. I opened one up to see about being able to service them in the future if the batteries go out on them. Some other units we have are completely sealed and non-serviceable. This is a plus that these can be serviced. The charging aspect is the trouble. we are located in the southwest states, and these get a ton of sun. Per the verbiage of the book, they won’t charge if in the off position on the switch. Thus, I charged them one day and turned them off and then charged them the next day too, and never really saw any difference. That said I may look into a higher capacity cell for them, but I will charge and monitor the charge level for a bit before I do this, as it may simply be massive consumption too. Either way, I would like them to make it to midnight at least. We are a working family and people come and go at night so I would like these to provide the light and ambiance that they were designed to do. I have a competitor’s units and these units last till 2-3 am in the morning. These units just do not last as I feel they should. I will update this posting as I learn more and closer test the charging state on them. But the real side of it they are probably the brightest and most beautiful ones I have seen to date. They just look amazing, and this reason alone is why I am going to look into this issue further. They are built with a high-quality aluminum structure that should be able to take a car driving over them accidently a few times, but I am not sure I will be testing this theory anytime soon. But they appear they can take this accidental abuse well enough. I would recommend these lights to others but with the notice that they will not last very long into the nighttime hours. Other than that, there is no issues to mention beyond this personal preference as compared to competitors’ products of the same class.

   I actually use these as Runway markers for my driveway. And they work out really well. At first I was going to put them on my porch and then decided to go a different route and put these at the edge of my driveway. I don’t even have them staked in and they stay put. I would like to get some u-shaped steaks to pound on each side of the light just to keep them where they’re supposed to be so far we are about halfway into December and they haven’t moved since I put them up in about June or july. They actually feel why they are made out of very durable material and feel pretty heavy duty in the hand. I’ve actually ran one of them over with my truck about 2 or 3 times now and it still hasn’t cracked or broken and charges up and lights up just fine. If these get a good charge during the summertime and good daylight they usually will turn on about 8:00 or 9:00 and last till about 4:00 or 5:00 in the morning as they slowly get dimmer towards the end. As we are approaching winter and blue mirror days they’re not getting as long of a run time obviously because of the solar charging but are still doing very well and allow me to see where my edge of my driveways are. Overall I super highly recommend these for any sort of marker lights
