   These would work well as visual indications of path boundaries, rather than anything trying to shed light to illuminate any kind of area. And look like they were built for the purpose.

   Each piece is a squat puck. The bottom side, which will be in contact with the ground after installation, has a switch with two ON positions. One will turn the puck on to shine white, the other to shine blue. Around the edge there are four holes for mounting it with screws. A second option is a dual adhesive pad (10 provided, one for each of the 8 pucks and two spares). The center of the top has a photocell, and the rest is a mix of armature and lens surface.

   The heft gives a feel of solidity. The puck has no trouble being stepped over, and (*not tested*) gives the impression it may survive being accidentally run over by a passenger car. Unfortunately, it needs to be uninstalled to access the on-off switch. I’ll use it as a “position light” on an encumbrance that people may run into when it’s dark.

   I got these lights for the stairs out front the house. I think the $55 price point is a little high for what they are. They do light up for a couple hours after dark, but brightly for only about an hour after a really sunny day. After that they are sort of dull, but still shine a little bit for a while. I wonder how much of this is affected by weather and would perhaps be different in a very sunny or tropical area. It is interesting that they are different colors, and can be turned on and off. My husband really appreciates and likes these lights. They save him from dangerous slipping and tripping when he forgets to turn on the outdoor light. Great for taking the dog out at night, and to illuminate the path when you come home after dark. They can be mounted with the included hardware, or used like we did by simply placing them on the ground.

   Well designed and sturdy for the average solar light, these are bright and distinctive lights for our walkway. I love that they have two colors to choose from, a bright white or a very cool shade of blue, switchable on the back of the unit. The mounting options are good for those who want to mount on a deck or other solid surface. So far the lights have been through a very serious storm here in coastal North Carolina without blinking, so they seem to be very watertight. Each light has made it through the night, so I’m satisfied that the internal battery holds a good charge, better than a number of other solar lights we’ve dismissed. Recommended.

   The first thing I noticed with these lights is their durability. I’ve handles similar lights in the past, and these ones just feel a lot more rugged. I wouldn’t intentionally, run them over, but it feels like it should be able to handle it.

   The light these provide is perfect for what it’s designed for. It’s not supposed to do any more than light up a path, and they do the job well.

   My only complaint would be the location of the color switch which is on the bottom. If you’ve installed the lights anywhere, you have to remove them if you wanted tot switch the color of the lights for any reason (white or blue). It’s a little bit of a hassle, but something to keep in mind if that matters.

   Overall, though, very happy with these path lights.

   I have been using these lights for over 2 months. They are going strong, are still bright and last. I have not stayed up to see how long they last, but as a night-owl, I have yet to see them not on. They are super easy to set up (you basically don’t have to do anything). I love how they illuminate in 2 different colors. I use them to add ambience to large exterior boulders. They have also withstood very high winds without any movement, which surprised me, because I did not fasten them to anything, just put them where I wanted them and never looked back.
