One of my dogs is afraid of the dark, so we’ve added lights like these all along our backyard fence line. We use the “dim light until motion is detected then bright light” mode; this provides enough illumination all the time, plus extra light as the dog moves into the area. This particular brand gives very nice bright white light, and lasts during all the dark hours through to morning (assuming the day was reasonably sunny). Motion detection works as expected. My one star off is for the mounting method. This light has 2 holes on the back and they “hang” on 2 screws. Other brands I own have simple mounting holes on the edge of the fixture; yes, the screw is visible but it's much easier to install them that way. TIP: use a piece of cardboard to create a template so it's simple to drill the screws in with the proper spacing (see photo).
6 MONTH UPDATE --ALL LIGHTS ARE DEAD. I STILL HAVE 4 FROM MY FIRST ORDER THREE YEARS AGO THAT WORK. BUT NONE OF THIS LAST SET SIX MONTHS AGO. NICE LOOKING BUT BASIC GARBAGE. Take a look at these batteries- All about to explode. Received units the other day. I have purchased 48 of these, 24 recently to replace the first 24. After you go through the trouble of replacing these you have to wait a full day for them to charge (12 hours of direct sunlight is best) First night, less than 1/2 worked. I went around and removed the battery in each unit that did not work (three of the batteries showed signs of leaking acid, I didn't think that was possible with Li-Ion but I guess I'm wrong) and reinserted the non leaking batteries. I let them charge for a full day. I now only have ten lights that do not work. That is about a 40% failure rate right out of the box. This weekend, I will check every battery for leaking. I would like to get the replacements for the non-working units but that appears to be impossible. Although I did have a couple in the first 24 that did not work right out of the box I managed to get them to work with a little effort. All of the first 24 are shot and I'm not sure if it is the solar panels or the batteries. September 25th Update. Six more lights have failed bring the total of the second batch to 18 out of 24
Bright, long enough for a big tree and power lasts most of the night
Fabulous! They give off a nice bright light and a very pretty design. With 12 there are plenty of lights to spread about a fairly large lawn or pathway. The glass is sturdy and the tops are easy to take on and off. I would have appreciated a simple bit of paper messaging that you need to unscrew the inverted spike inside the light tube. I was about to return them as I thought they did not come with the spikes to put them in the ground and then I discovered the spikes were inside the tubes...great for packaging but a simple message would have been nice. Thank goodness I read the small print on the top saying you need to use lithium re-chargeable batteries as I think that is why my last set didn't work; I loaded new AA in my last set that I had ordered off of QVC and those lights never really worked so I ordered these lights. Pay attention to the small print and enjoy this beautiful set.
Solar walkway lights. I love their great look, and that they work wonderfully at my entry step!
As soon as I opened up the npcpsolar.com box the Box this thing was in looks like it had been beaten around this was before it was shipped Because the actual shipping box was fully intact with no damage upon inspection the solar panel had some damage it does still work that's the only reason I'm giving this two stars
This light are amazing 🤩
Great addition to the backyard shed. Super easy to install and looks great. I like you can choose the light type, always on and brighter with motion, only on with motion - I put mine on only with motion. Throws plenty of light for me to see my way in or keep an eye on the pups at night. Love this! Great value Great product!
This six pack of solar powered motion sensing lights is a good set of lights and I think at the perfect price point. They worked out perfectly for what we needed them to do which was add a bit of light to our back yard so we can see our dogs doing our business at night. They also add a very desired "romantic" feel to our back yard as well. They are somewhat easy to install as they use a keyhole hanging method on the back of the light which can get a bit aggravating if you install the screw even a tiny bit off. I'd rather see an installation method where the plastic of the body extends above the light with a very clear hole to simply drive a screw through. The motion detection is excellent and picks up our dogs movement from about five to fifteen feet away. We have them spaced about eight or nine feet apart and as our dogs run the edge of the back yard it's fun to watch them all cascade on. They put out a very decent amount of light as well and my wife actually said she wishes they were dimmer, not me! I love how bright they are and they definitely do help us see our dog's activities in the dark. They have three settings on them I believe for different functions but I keep them all on dim until motion is sensed. They have a decent sized solar charging panel and allows for a good amount of storage to keep the lights on in the dark. Good lights, and I definitely recommend them to you.
Love these powerful little lights. Easy to assemble and install. They highlight my trees perfectly. The most impressive thing is how strong the light is after being on all night. I took these pictures at 4 am!! Perfect to light up dark areas.
I needed some small motion sensor solar lights for side yard when I take trash out at night. I was looking for something small, simple and light weight and can be easily screw onto edge of wood and not on stucco. Saw this and bought 1 to install above the door. The light and solar panel have very small base that enables me to screw/install to the wood edge. Works great. The moment I open the door it comes on. I have it set to turn on when sensing motion, then off after 20 seconds. It works so well I bought a second one 2 weeks later. It is bright enough for my purpose. Installation was 10 minutes per light. I put the solar panel on my shingle roof without anything holding it down. I put a Velcro to the back of the panel and it is “caught” by the material of shingle roof and does not move (unless you move it by hand). Last week Los Angeles had huge wind and it stayed up there. There are different modes that the light can be on, but you cannot adjust the turn-on time, just 20 seconds. I do wish if you could change from 20 to 40 or 60 seconds. But for the price, it’s good enough. So far it works great for the price.
They work fantastically.Ive ordered them twice I use them in my Halloween display. They can be positioned anyway desired. They have a good dwell time. Can't think of a better type.
Picked these for the dual motion sensors. The range is pretty good, they're very bright. Able to adjust the solar panel so I can have at an angle so snow won't sit on it. Ive had them up since September 2024, it's January 2025 and they are still going strong. I'm in Michigan so they've survived alot of rain, snow and sun so far. No sign of water getting in the light, which happened to a previous set I bought of a different brand. So all in all, they are doing their job well! Remote works fine and installation is easy as pie.
Product was as described. Solid/thick plastic construction. Takes paint if you want to change color (see pictures). One light was inoperable and was quickly replaced by the seller when contacted. Very happy with this product. Very happy with customer service of the seller. The product is plastic, but looks very nice. I would definitely recommend both the product and seller. Pictures 1,2,3 show how lens connects to top with small tab on top and hole in lens. Pictures 4,5 show lens connection to base. Pictures 6,7 show how lens and top are connected to base by aligning tabs/slots and then twisting into place. Pictures 8,9,10 show the painted vs. non-painted lights and the paint I used. 11-shows base bottom...6 inch inner diameter width to outer rim, 5 3/4 inch inner diameter width to the other inner rim.
I'm very happy with these lights! The quality is excellent and feels sturdy, even though they're made of plastic. They blend seamlessly into my landscaping during the day and give off a lovely, warm light in the evening. They add such a great vibe to the space. Overall, I'm extremely pleased!
