Love these lights and solar power. You must place them higher on the wall where it gets sunlight and there are no trees blocking access. My wife loves these new lights. They change colors and make an excellent setting for outside. Great brightness, automatic turing off and on, Good size, and great value for its money.
So far so good
This review is for: VIANIS Dusk to Dawn Outdoor Post Light with Pier Mount Base, Waterproof Lamp Post Light Fixture, Aluminum 3-inch Exterior Post Lamp with Tempered Glass for Driveway, Backyard, Patio, Garden This VIANIS Dusk-To-Dawn was a replacement for my light post light, which was not dusk-to-dawn. It was easy to put together, and install. The photocell sensor is working as expected. I first tested it by covering it with my hand, and the light came on. When I removed my hand, the light turned off. Now that it is installed and in use, when it gets dark out, my light comes on. When it gets bright out, the light turns off. It seems to be working perfectly. It has a nice appearance, and despite the design elements, not much light is blocked by the metal accents.
I like these lights. I guess they haven't really stood up to the full test of time, but I left them out on the picnic table through several weeks (and several rain storms and drizzly days) and they didn't flinch. At first I thought they were defective because they'd just blink funny and then turn back off. Well, that's the auto-sensor doing it's thing. That's probably nice 90% of the time but I do wish kinda wish there were an option to just force them on. It comes with one of those disposable-looking remotes you'll feel like you have to keep track of, and options for all sorts of crazy blinking patterns. Not exactly what I'm usually going for while trying to relax outdoors. But you can just use the couple buttons on the main unit itself to put it into steady mode and just leave it steady lighting.
These wall lights didn’t exceed expectations but did meet them. The fixture is smaller than I expected. It installed easily and came with everything you need. Construction felt decent it’s light weight but most solar lights are. I wish the put out more light so I can see the walkway but are more of a decorative touch on a wall or fence. It is very aesthetically pleasing and can make a space stand out. I found the price to be better than most other lights I’ve seen.
OK I'm gonna get straight to the point. I like the concept of what the light delivers, fireflies affect. It would be perfect if people put them inside or near bushes, I actually bought a pair of four and then purchased two more . (total 12). the lights delivers, they look great, and they last till am time (timed them at 5-6am) still running. Before purchasing think about how you would use it in your yard. I ended up returning mine after one week. The reason? You have to have a type of landscape that works with it. I had a perfect spot to put them around a statue infront of a tree, surrounding with mini bushes that were starting to grow around it. The lights look phenomenon at night. Work straight out of the box. They work with only a couple hours of charging. They're very strong and durable. They look great at nighttime. No complaints there. When I purchased them, I did not see any images of how they look like in daytime to get an idea how it would look. I know they have an up close shot but it's hard to get an idea because it's not put into the ground. Basically for me, I didn't work in my landscape. I tried moving them around the different spots around the house by bushes, in the front, and the back of my house, including near trees, and a planter section that had multiple trees growing inside, and they stand out way too much at daytime. I tried positioning them closer to the tree if you noticed one of the pictures and they look great just like fireflies, especially when the wind blows. But like I said earlier, the only issue is that during the day, the shade of a tree underneath, or the bush prevent it from charging, you're forced to put them more in open areas where it can collect sunlight, this exposes all the plastic and the rods sticking out from the ground. beyond that, they're very sturdy, deliver everything that's advertised, and they are great and work as advertised at night. the light is also very bright not overly but enough to wear a few join a bunch of them together they give off a very cool effect. You can also move around to charging LED portion in different sections once it's inserted into the ground you can also slightly bend the bulbs. like I said, it really depends on the person's landscape and my situation they they stood out way too much during the day. If you can make it work. They're great. Just make sure you're adding them to gets a lot of sunlight. The stick is smaller too like I said earlier, you can't hide them inside of bushes or plant vases because the length of the metal rod the charging LED is in the bottom portion closer to the dirt.
Super simple installation whether you mount or stick them. The downlighting is nice and bright. The lights stay on longer than I expected them to. I am very happy with my purchase!
Disappointed item was broken. Poor manufacturer's packaging. Returned for refund as past Experience is when manufacturing packaging is inadequate replacement part also tends to be broken in same manor.
These are amazing! I was surprised at how much light they put out. I carried these lights to a third world country where the power is often out and installed 8 of these lights at a retirement center. I couldn’t believe how much light they put out. Here is a pic of one of the eight lights installed when the power was off. They are as advertised and more than I expected when it came to light output.
I was Very happy with these lights in the beginning.. Gives a nice 'wagon-wheel' pattern. Not super bright, but enough for a great accent light and lighting for my garden pathways. Lasting all night, so far. UPDATE after 1 year. Most lights not working. Tried installing new batteries, but they still did not work. Checked interior mechanism, and they have rusted and do not work. Will try to contact seller, in hopes of getting replacement set. Update: August 2022: Company contacted and immediately took care of my issue. They stand behind the product they sell. With a couple of days, they sent me a complete new set. I would happily order from this company again. I’m adding some sealant around the top solar panel, so it won’t drip onto the interior circuit board, just to hope I have no issues with the new set. Thank you to John at the seller’s company for a fast resolution.
These lights are absolutely beautiful on my white vinyl fence. Out of the 32 lights I ordered, only 1 of them did not work. They are bold in color and all turn on with the same level of brightness. It was worth the price! They did for a little loose, but I used the screws they came with to secure them to the fence.
UPDATE:: DOES NOT stay on but 3 hours with panel in full sun for 8 plus hours of charging! You would think with that big panel, it would stay on at least 6 hours! I will be contacting npcpsolar.com! {original post} Just wow! This little light went beyond my expectations! For the price I’m ordering more. My only complaint is the box had been opened and I’m thinking it was a return. Not sure why anyone would return it tho! Perfect for our car shed!
These are very very small kind of weird I bought a four pack for little over $60 that’s about $17 a piece and change for $19 you can get the large size from Lowe’s or Home Depot not too happy but I will put one up to see how it works I guess
There is nothing about these solar powered lights that I do not like. They are warm and inviting. I sit on the porch, sipping wine and bask in the warm mellow that these lights create. The fact that they are globes instead of the standard spike lantern style make them extra special. Weatherproof… yea, I left them over the winter and they glow in the snow. Bought more this year. Going to put them around the deck in the back soon. Definitely worth the purchase for special ambiance. Especially love pulling up after dark and seeing them.
