I wasnt sure I wanted to spend $75 on solar lights but was sorely disappointed with the Sam's Club ones I bought. Bought two sets of those with a 50 percent failure rate. Got these on a pretty good sale and had like $26 npcpsolar.com points so I thought what the heck. Very sturdy, worked right out of the box. Look great not cheap like the other ones I had. Bright enough to light my path and flowerbeds. If they were a little more affordable I'd buy more. Update: these lights work so well and are super durable I bought another set! Highly recommend
Lights are very nice, and look great when installed. But for the price you can't expect high quality, they are plastic but don't look like plastic. For the price I paid I am happy with the way they look. The one issue is you have to unscrew 4 screws when you want to change the light bulbs. Hopefully with the long life bulb I will not have to change the bulbs for several years.
Waited to write a review to see if these lights last ('cause solar lights never seem to). We purchased them 1 1/2 years ago & they are still so beautiful! We had our first snowfall of the season, so I was admiring them & couldn't be happier with my purchase!
These are really good solar motion sensor lights. They're extremely practical in a number of ways. For one, the cable that connects the panel to the lights themselves is very long. This is perfect because it allows you to put the panel somewhere where there's full sun while the light is elsewhere. This allows them to stay charged. Secondly, the sensor itself is on the light panel near the bottom middle. I have found it to detect a decent range at night which I'm extremely happy with. Believe it or not is actually helped me save money because I have it mounted so that if any animals try to get into my chicken feed then they will be hit with a bright spotlight. They really don't like that and so generally they tend to avoid it. The other way these are helpful is I have another one mounted on the corner of my fence because we tend to get coyotes which we once again do not want because of owning chickens. These lights tend to throw them off a bit. They prefer to go elsewhere at night. The third way these are very practical is they are very bright. They are a cool white color and are similar to a flood light. The fourth good thing about these is the sensitivity and responsiveness of the motion detection. As I mentioned before, the range is good and they pick up things a good distance away from the light itself. I have it set to not stay on too long. This actually seems to work well because every time the animal in question moves then the light briefly comes on temporarily disorienting them. Then it shuts back off and when their vision adjusts and they start moving around again then the lights can come back on. Nighttime predators or rodents really don't seem to enjoy that. So the lights are helping my chickens stay safe and saving me money on feed. Lastly, the panel and the lights can rotate because of a ball and joint type of mounting that both the panel and the light have on the back of them. They do include the screws for mounting the lights. However, I actually just used zip ties through the screw holes to attach them to the fence instead, which seems to have worked really well and allows me to easily reposition or move them later if needed. So everything was included and working well. The lights themselves in the panels are plastic as are the cables with only the screws being metal. I am hoping these will still last a long time despite not being metal. They seem to have decent water resistance just because the housing seems tight enough to prevent water from penetrating into the light. However, I'm not in the rainy season right now so I will have to report back if this changes. The look of them is mostly utilitarian so no complaints there as that's exactly what was intended. So to get some solar lighting that uses motion detection at night, that's very bright (nearly flood light level) and provides you with good flexibility and practicality these are a great value for the money.
Edited to add an update: I had contacted npcpsolar.com's customer service who then put me in touch with RTTY, in order to come up with a solution as to why one solar panel wasn't working. RTTY quickly sent me a whole new string of lights, and I first swapped the (assumed) defective panel with the new one. If that didn't work, then I would have swapped out the entire string of lights. Well, the new panel works as it should, my 4 strings of lights now all go on at sunset and turn off automatically. I love them! They are bright and look great around my yard. Sp i've updated my review from 3 stars to 5 -- great customer service, great lights. FIngers crossed they last a long time I had purchased the 100’ version of these lights for the fence around my backyard and I absolutely loved it!. I have a lot of fencing, and when ordering more I needed to order two 50’ strands for quicker delivery. Both worked right out of the box (as pictured), but the second night (after being outside all day), one strand didn’t work. The following day I brought the solar panel inside to charge via USB, that evening all was great. The next night, nothing. Both panels are next to each other so they are absorbing the same amount of sunlight, but one just won’t work without a USB charge. Having said that, the lights are brighter than I expected and I love them. Just wish they all worked consistently
I ordered this product because of its compact size and portability. I currently own a Wagan product that has been reliable for many years. This solar light is easy to install. All the hardware is included. This solar light is sturdy in construction and well manufactured. For my application, I have installed the solar light in a narrow side area of the house on a metal pole to provide better lighting for my security camera. The range of detection was approximately 8 feet when motion was detected. What I like most about this solar lamp: 1. The LED lighting is bright at 2000 lumens max. 2. The motion detector and light panel assembly can rotate 180 degrees horizontally from side-to-side. 3. You can adjust the LED light panel vertically by sliding it down, if you prefer. 4. There are 3 modes settings: a. Mode 1 – light is on at 50 lumens but when motion is detected, light is 2000 lumens b. Mode 2 – No light but when motion is detected, light is 2000 lumens c. Mode 3 – Constant light at 50 lumens only To turn on the solar light and set the modes, you need to use the enclosed key pin. It was easy to set the modes. The motions sensor will blink red when setting: Mode 1 – one red flash; Mode 2 – two red flashes; Mode 3 – three red flashes. The only disappointing feature for me is when motion is detected, the light stays on for 10 seconds therefore, you will need to reinitiate motion to reactivate the sensor and light. Wagan has produced a sturdy, versatile, portable solar light with very good lighting. You can even take it camping! Overall, I am very satisfied with this purchase and Wagan.
High Quality Solar lights that produce an easy on the eye yet bright light. I went with the white light color. These fit perfectly around my palms and have a diameter of about 8 inches around the base of the tree. However my 3rd tree in the picture has a 12 inches around base and I was able to just not screw the two light together and you would never know the difference. I love the way my yard looks at night now. These lights come with a Very Large Solar Panel to collect enough sun to charge the batteries to keep these light lit brightly all night into morning. They are about 12x8 inches each I’d guess. They are a little expensive, however I bought the 4 year protection plan to be sure I get my moneys worth. Hopefully these lights are around for a long by time. I plan on using them as long as I have trees. My house stands out in the neighborhood. Even at night now. Hopefully everybody appreciates a nice view to notice as much as I do.
My mom has become super obsessed with lighting up our house - both inside and outside. We don't have too many streetlights, so she's always trying to find some kind of way to light up the sounds of our house. I ended up finding these for her as a late Christmas present instead of her installing some light service into the sides of the house. That way, she can continually get light (depending on how much sun there is) each night without having to worry about turning a light switch on/off. These garden lights come in a pack of two with all the accompanying parts for either hanging it up onto the walls or sticking it into the ground. It came with directions and parts to mount it onto a wall, but I ended up playing with the lights in order to figure out how to get it to work. So the lights have a solar panel, which should be facing towards the sun to absorb as much sunlight as possible. Then there's the actual spotlight where you can adjust the colors by clicking the button underneath the solar panel. The lights claim to be super bright, but I feel like it's more of an ambient lighting, which is what I prefer anyway. Having the lights be too bright might become an unwanted distraction. I like that there are about 7 different colors (red, blue, green, purple, yellow, white, and a mixed color). There's also a mode for the colors to run continuously - I guess good for parties? My mom has been experimenting and changing the lights every so often according to her mood. We've been using these lights for about a week or two, and the sunlight has been pretty consistent, thus we get the lights to power on once it starts to grow dark. Sometimes the lights do turn off (i.e. headlights turn towards the lights) without powering up again, but that's quite rare. Most of the time the lights bounce back into the on-mode after blinking off for a few seconds. The solar panel is able to be rotated into various positions (the lights as well), so make sure to use that in order to optimize these lights to the best position possible! They're also supposedly waterproof and should last quite some time, so I am hoping they will last for a long period of time. I prefer the white and yellow colors the most, but I feel like these two colors are always a little distorted because of the other bulbs. Definitely think this makes the house look more welcoming, especially as it creates that sense of warmness/brightness. And I can always move it to different locations if I realize the sun isn't doing a too good of a job in one particular location. My mom is especially happy with the purchase, and I personally love that it's solar lighting!
The color features and options are great. However some lamps only hold up for about 3-4 hrs at night even on sunny days. Others stay lit all night. Realize you WILL have to adjust them for the best light as the sun angle shifts during a season. I've already had to do this. If you notice a decrease in time you have to adjust again. Other than this annoying fact the lights themselves are great. TIP: experiment with location for best lighting. Some surfaces will 'swallow' up the light and not reflect as much. Vegetation will soften the light and hard surfaces it will intensify the color. Most powerful colors are the cyan, yellow and white. Weakest is the deep blue followed by the violet purple. Red is in between. For the weaker colors I'd make sure to place the lamp closer and shine them on larger objects. Some color wavelengths will not illuminate as much. The deep blue especially needs a large surface or it will 'disappear'. It's trial and error until you get what you want.
These solar lamps are just what I was looking for at a great price. They lit up right out of the box. Assembly was easy, and you can choose a tall or short height. They put off a nice warm light and stay lit all night. They add a nice glow to the landscape in the evening and look nice during the day as well. They are completely plastic, so they may degrade in the Texas sun over time, but I’m ok with that for the price.
They are easy to install and have 3 different light settings, but when you need to change the battery or light setting, you have to completely uninstall them. My “new” lights -at least one- came with mud caked in it. It’s not a complete deal breaker since it’s an outdoor light. I’m not going to send it back. It works and is already installed but disappointing. Over all the lights are working well and aren’t too bright. They look good. I installed them up my deck steps and they stay light long enough for a good fire pit night. I’m sure they would last longer if I didn’t live in the woods. Overall they are a decent value for the money.
I’ve wanted to put up fence lights for a long time. I saw these that had three lights versus two and thought they would look amazing! And they do. The lights come with screws, anchors, and a template. They’re easy to install. However, it’s getting the placement right that took some time. I wanted to make sure the light started below the fence beam and not on it so as not to break up the three “peaks” the light projects. I had to install them at dusk so I could see where the light landed. The lights are not overly bright, which is what I was looking for. They have a slide switch to power them on and off. There’s a button to cycle through the colors and modes. They both worked perfectly. I am keeping them on warm white and will use colors for a festive effect for parties and holidays. It’s also worth mentioning that these lights have 10 colors whereas others usually have nine. The battery capacity is 1300mAh, which is a bit larger than others I have tried. I’ve used them for over a week, and they stay lit all night. I definitely like the three-light models better than the two. They seem durable and have done well through wind and rain. They’re a good value and I’m very happy with them.
Bought these a few months ago. Had not used until this week. Placed the string onto the interior frame of a 10 by 10 pop up. The 35 foot string length works just right for this! The 2700k light color is warm & the bulbs don't bother your eyes if viewed directly. Remote control works nicely too. We did receive 1 bad bulb. See pictures. Not very heavy. Was easy to secure to the frame with zip ties. The bulbs are about the size of a standard appliance bulb. They look great.
I just wanted some simple lights to highlight my new fence, these are perfect. I love the white light version, they project downward so it gives a nice accent to my new build.
I just installed these today. Easy to install. And quick setup. They were already charged which was nice. They ended up looking very close to what was pictured. Still new to me. But so far VERY happy with them.
