These torches solar lights are very beautiful. The set does come with 12 smaller sized torches. They are not extremely bright but they do give off some light. I love how the lights look like real fire as you can see in my video. It’s definitely a beautiful addition to my yard.
Great quality lights. I have the rectangular set and am about to purchase more to add to the garden. I live in Myrtle Beach and these are still on at 6am if we have a sunny day. They are on the northeast side of the garden and some are in partial shade. Not one has broken. They have two levels of post - mine are low to the ground. They give off plenty of light.
The solar panel on the top of this light is substantial along with the size of the light. The base is made of metal with three holes for mounting, including concrete hardware only. I plan on having it mounted to the top of a five foot tree stump, which will require me to purchase the hardware necessary but that’s ok, because I have been searching for a large solar light and this one provided more than I expected. The light itself is warm and bright enough for the yard. I love that it includes a remote with an on/off, dimmer option, timer settings, and automatic dusk sensor, it works very well. Very pleased with the quality and function of this light, highly recommend!
We saw these path lights at a resort in South Africa, and we were quite impressed with how effectively they lit the driveways and walkways around the grounds. We need similar lighting on the periphery of our somewhat tight front circular driveway here in California, with the goal of helping visitors negotiate the driveway without putting a wheel into the landscaping. So, we ordered 24 of these Happybuy units, which arrived about a week later. This type of light is typically positioned to send light across the pathway. In our case, we positioned them 90 degrees to the typical orientation so that the lights illuminated the edge pavers. (see photos) This works quite well for us, leaving little doubt to visitors as to the location of the driveway edges. Suggestions: After some thought, we decided to position the lights temporarily for a few days to make sure we had the right locations and orientation. This also allowed us to make sure the solar cells would get enough sun during the day to charge the batteries. You should also think about how shading varies during the year. In the overhead photo of the driveway, south is up, meaning there are times during the day when sunlight is more limited. Still, even in winter, we are getting more than enough sunlight to have the light work into the middle of the night. When the lights get a full charge, they operate all night! How the lights should be anchored will vary based on the material on which they will be mounted: concrete, stone, wood, etc. My driveway uses pavers, so I chose to use pre-lubricated ¼” X 1-1/4” concrete anchors. I used an impact drill to create a hole about 2” deep. I then used an air bottle to blow dust from the hole to make sure the screw would not create excessive spreading forces. A socket wrench tightened the screws, using a screwdriver for the final tightening force. A good idea is to place the lights where wanted, then mark only one of the two mounting hole locations. This is especially important if the lights are to be mounted on concrete or stone; getting the drill to penetrate exactly on the marked point is sometimes difficult. So, drill the first hole, then position the light over the hole using a hand-inserted anchor. Now mark the other hole, drill and complete the installation. Some of the early reviewers on these products complained of early failures, and my hope is that I will not see these problems. The units seem very well made. UPDATE: At the 14 month mark, two of these lights have failed, and several other appear to have water penetrate to top cover. I suspect these will also fail. They really do the job well, so I will order a few more in hoped that they have solved their problems. I have reduced my rating to average, as a result. The new units have arrived - I bought the 12-pack - and I am looking them over. There do not appear to be any design changes to make them more weather resistant. Upon investigation, I found that a total of five of my original units had failed. Here's a mystery: one of the units that failed to light was removed. While I was looking at it on my desk, I changed channels on the office TV. When the IR signal hit the light, it turned on. It stays on for about 90 seconds. It repeats this reliably!
I was skeptical about the brightness of them being solar rechargeable, but they do not disappoint. They were smaller than I thought they would be because you don’t get a good idea from the description. But I like how they can be used in a few different ways and that they are solar recharging so there’s no chords. Even after a few cloudy days they were still just as bright as if it were sunny. Totally forty it in my opinion.
I love these! So much so that I bought a second set. I have them installed with the adhesive in case they didn’t work I didn’t want to screw a bunch of holes in my new deck. They last all night and make my porch look beautiful. No one is tripping on these stairs! I have smaller lights around the bottom of the deck which are pretty bright themselves, but you can see the brightness of these compared to the other lights. (Second picture) These have multiple led’s so it’s not just one light, the whole triangle lights up. My favorite solar lights I’ve ever seen or tried!
Seriously wow. These were the perfect touch to my garden. I love how sleek they look. And I was suprised to see they have two options of color, tone, white, and warm each with two options of brightness. Awesome design. Highly recommend.
Going to buy more! 3 light settings and Value for money.
I didn't expect this product could work as good as it is, good motion detection range and light intensity is incredible, it's worth the money expend, easy to install.
I took a chance on these as I got a wild hair and decided to try a simple solution for accent lighting for my house. To my surprise they're very well made. The stakes, the head, the solar panels and wiring, everything seems to be and feels like something meant to be out in the elements. For now I have thew wires run and buried and the lights on stakes. I'd planned on mounting the lights but in a couple of places that won't work so, so far the stakes are the best option, and work well. Once we had several days of good full sun, they seem to last longer than other reviews have stated. When I first put them in we had on and off weather, as well, I moved and test locations for the panels. I finally got a good spot that will be about as good as I can get. Depending on time of year, the number of hours of sun that hit this part of the yard changes quite a bit. It's on the north side, partially blocked by the house, more so in fall and winter months. I've ended up with these on full power. Mid power is pretty good for my application but full is better. If there was 1 more higher setting it might be perfect. However I'd question the ability to power them without larger panels and power storage. With decent but not great sun, they'd go off somewhere close to 4 AM. That would be about 7 or so hours which is respectable on high. With some constant sun recently, even with limited direct sun during the day, I check cameras yesterday and they were going off at about 6AM. That's about 9 hours on high. I can't complain about that at all. They're small, which is good because they aren't noticeable but put off a good light for our 1 story at the corners where there's accents. The color of these lights are great, warm and natural. For about $140 I think, for the 3 sets this was a great option. Only time will tell as far as durability and holding a charge for powering them as much as possible over night but for a solar solution, these are a great option!! FYI, they're made well too, including the stakes and brackets. I have another light for a flag light that's larger, but the stake and mount are much less substantial than these sets. These are much more heavy duty. All in all, these are a solid buy for a simple solar lighting solution. The attached picture was just after install, before I had the aim and locations nailed down better. They are on the brightest setting here. I think the picture might show them a little bit brighter than they are in person.
Super cute, just like the description and great brightness at night
Missing the button to change light settings, and only came with 2 screws for all 4 lights. Update: customer service reached out and offered to send 4 new lights free of charge. Also did get the chance to install one and was not too impressed with the brightness and sensors lag alot sometimes
These solar lights are AWESOME! They look very classy and add a very nice touch to either side of our driveway entrance. They work immediately out of the box and charge well, staying lit all night. I like that they shine a fairly wide light downwards and outwards. They are attractive looking and great that they are waterproof. So easy to put together, they took all of a few minutes. They easily go into the ground and stand very sturdily. One of my favorite things about these is that they are solar so do not need to be wired and save on electricity. And because they aren't fixed I can move them around to other spots if I like! I'd recommend these as a good value.
Electrician here. I order a lot of solar products. I have quite a few smaller versions of this fixture; but, this is my first sixteen incher. I like it. It's not as bright as I thought it would be; but, that just means it will burn longer on a single charge. As seen in my video, this device will light the entire front of a door and a maybe a square yard at the foot of the door. That's considerably more than just the sign directly beneath the light. The photocell works quickly, even with artificial light. Some solar lights do not open the circuit for artificial light unless it is very bright. There are two sets of brackets included; however, there are not any instructions as to how those brackets are supposed to be used. I had to go back to the product page and, even then, click the image that showed (+4) additional images to find the single image that I have included here in the review. I figured out the longer bracket all by myself (pat on the back). It was the shorter bracket that was causing some confusion. I wondered if they worked together somehow. Anyway, now the reader doesn't have to figure it out for themselves. Battery access is a few short screws away. One of the circuit boards must also be momentarily moved aside; but, the battery pack has a quick release wiring attachment. Those same packs, with those same quick releases, are available right here, on npcpsolar.com, when that time comes to pass. My obligatory copy/paste: USER ACCESS TO RECHARGEABLE BATTERIES This is my biggest pet peeve when it comes to any rechargeable product, solar, USB, or 120V. I will dock a star right off the top of any review for a complete lack of user access to the rechargeable battery, batteries, or battery bank. Since I order and review so many products of this nature, I have decided to create this comprehensive statement as an addition to those reviews and fully explain my reasons for docking that star. I often mention something in my reviews but don’t always have the time to say it all. I will now. Without access to the rechargeable batteries, even the nicest devices are totally worthless once the batteries have outlived their lifespan and can no longer be recharged. At best, product components can be recycled. At worst, the entire product becomes landfill. To me, this is very wasteful and environmentally unconscious. It is also inconsiderate to the consumer, who must pay full cost to replace the device when myriad rechargeable batteries are readily available on the market at very affordable prices. Products that allow user access have a second benefit beyond just replacement. The battery can also be upgraded for a higher amp-hour rating, making the device function longer between recharges. This is especially useful for solar products which often deplete their charge before morning. Example: I have some solar yard stakes that were very cheap. They are pretty and the light pattern is aesthetic. A part of the reason they were so cheap is that they each came with a 150mAh battery. Most solar stakes have a 600mAh battery. Because of these low amp-hour batteries, the stakes would only illuminate for a few hours after dusk and would always be dark well before morning. I replaced the 150mAh batteries with 1100mAh batteries. Now, those same cheap yard stakes burn brightly all night long. The 1100mAh batteries that I used were less than $2 each, right here on npcpsolar.com. There are three types of access if there is any access at all. The first type is the best, obviously, and I call it “tool-less access.” With this type of access, one can just open a compartment by hand; lift a lid or unscrew a cap; and swap batteries. Easy Peasy. The next is a little more difficult; but, still user friendly and I call it “layman access.” This type of access usually involves removing one screw (or several screws) and removing a cover (or an entire section of the device body) to reach the battery or batteries. Once done, the batteries can then be swapped by hand without any electrical terminations and the device reassembled. The last access is NOT user friendly. It is still access, albeit the bare minimum, and as such, allows the product to avoid MY docking of a star. The battery or batteries CAN be changed; however, wires are soldered to the battery ends and changing those batteries requires a modicum of knowledge and skill. That should cover it. Happy Shopping. See you in the next review.
this is the best one i've got that delivers a genuine feeling organic flame effect, it's by far the most rich in color and long lasting in battery. the panel is strong and keeps the light going for hours and hours on end. because it has a sorta flimsy plastic base, i was skeptical at first, but this light has proven itself night after night, and i'm truly impressed with how well it performs
