I've bought about eight of these. This 2-light set is a replacement. The metal construction is great. The solar collector, not so much. It only goes in in one direction in about a 30 degree arch, so can't really be set to aim at at the south, depending on where you have the light set. But the biggest thing is while the general construction is metal, the solar collector is attached with a thin plastic pedestal. Which our deer snapped off. Because it's thin plastic. Then it didn't collect ANY sun. I tried to glue it on, as the picture indicates, but no dice. So I order this set.. one to replace the broken one and a spare, because our deer are sure to knock off another one. I've been through a bunch of these and it's really hard to find descent ones. This design is "better", but still not great. They'd do a lot better by redesigning it to include a 360 degree solar panel pedestal made of metal. It's always the weakest link that goes, and it's this little pedestal on this guy.
I’ve got a few solar powered lights for my backyard lately and so far these are the best! Super bright white light output, with 3 lighting levels, lasts about 6 hours on brightest level, I put it close to a tree and it lights it up nicely! Like these so much I got more!
I was honestly thinking when I installed them 3 years ago that they wouldn’t work well or last. Now 3 years later they still look great and work every night. They have been through multiple storms and two hurricanes this year. They get light in the morning and afternoon but shaded in the late afternoon and still work every day.
I bought 2 of theses jsut to see how well they worked and I was pleased. Then I bought 8 more and 3 of them were faulty from not coming on at all to water leaking in and the middle light not working. However I love the ones that work and would like to buy more but am a bit hesitant due to the 3 that don't work. Hopefully the others keep working because they are great lights if they work. I would like to update my review by saying this company stands by there product and replaced the 3 lights that broke. I will recommend these to anyone who asks it's hard to find a product as reasonably priced with good customer service. Definitely will buy more from these guys
These motion sensors solar lights are gentle on the eyes and, perhaps considered to its detriment, are not very bright. Good as a light to keep on outside at night, but not as a floodlight to ward off unwanted visitors. I like the design and light weight. Was easy to install with a short screwdriver. Only needed two screws to attach to wall. Looks nice on my home, would recommend to others.
I am so pleased with these lights. I wanted something whimsical for my tiny house entrance and these are perfect. Easy to solar charge and install. Only sad thing is that lights can be steady or ‘blinking’ but the ‘blinking’ is just all lights on and off. I was hoping they would ‘twinkle’ not just on/off. BUT it’s beautiful with steady so I’m very happy!!
I have bought these a few times as I like the natural rattan look but unfortunately they last less than a year, if that, and then need to be replaced. I have changed the battery but that doesn't seem to help as the batteries then only corrode and I end up wasting the battery. This recent order was missing half of one of the poles but as I have several old poles from before, I used one of those. These lights look great but they really should last longer than they do.
Pros: Lights are warm white as described. Easy to install, though they got a bit tangled. They automatically come on when it gets dark, which is convenient. Cons: I don’t like how there was a random extra gap between lights in the middle of each stand. (See second pic.) It was easily remedied by wrapping the cord around two staked lights. Also was tedious to assemble each and every stake onto the wire. Not difficult, just time consuming. Unfortunately, two of my lights broke already on two different strands when kids were throwing frisbees in the yard. I guess the plastic doesn’t hold up well. Suggestion: to designer: Make the sets really connectable so they can sync when blinking. Sell them on a reel to prevent tangling and for easy storage.
I had some lovely globe lights that stopped working. They are 3-4 years old, so I got good use of them. I liked the globes so much though I wanted to use them, so I purchased these with the intent of using my original globes on them. Worked like a charm. Downside is that the stakes aren't very good quality and weren't as nice looking as my old ones. If you are purchasing these because you want pretty lights in your yard, they will work nicely, however, the globes are pretty small. The first picture is a clear globe that was on another fixture so its larger, but basically they look the same. Very nice color at night. The colors do change. The second picture is one of my favorite globes. My original fixture didn't change color. This one is great with the changing color. The third is another globe I reused. It doesn't show the light as nicely but does show the stake. It wasn't quite dark when I took the pictures. The biggest objection is that these aren't very good quality, but then again, they weren't very costly.
I purchased 3 packs of 2 since I have 5 lights across the front of my house. 2 lights do not work right at all out of the first 4 ordered. The 2 that work I like so I planned on returning the 2 that dont work to get 2 that work then get an additional 2. I got the additional 2 first then noticed that the 2 I got are exactly the same but when the mode is changed the mode switch and sensor light up different colors. Now the last 2 I got do not match the first 4 I got. So now I have 2 that have switched that glow and 4 that do not. Top set of instructions show nothing about colors next set shows colors on the mode. Now how do I make them match? I would give a 5 star if they all worked and worked the same.
These solar glass globes add so much ambiance and colors in the garden. Being IP44 rated and weather proof they should work well in sunlight, rain or snow. The assembly is very easy where you just connect the stakes together and a plastic piece to go in the ground. I like that they give out some light and colors but not overly bright. This set of 6 is a good value for the price. Although I must add that the first box that arrived seemed to be opened before, or that it was being dropped during the shipping process and some pieces broke inside. npcpsolar.com did send a replacement in a timely manner.
Ot works more than 1 year
It is "easy" to install in the sense there is no wiring needed. It does, however, require you have a post of the size specified. For me this now puts a light where I previously had none. The light is bright enough to help see the walk. If you are within about 15 feet, you could differentiate your keys. But it's not bright enough to read by even if you were right next to it. I've had this lamp for over two years now. It's still on the original batteries which continue to work fine. It holds enough charge for the light even in New England with our short days. It also still lights up after cloudy days. Probably a good idea to put it somewhere within reach where you can wipe the snow off the solar cells.
Very simple to put together..Was a great hit gave me a wonderful glow and light just I wanted! My only issue was once I struck the lamps into the sand moving them around to another place the piece would come apart. So black electrical tape solved my problem. Other than that leave it where you place it the first time it worked nicely.
These lamps look very high quality, give a rather bright, beautiful illumination color, sufficient for short plants and the lower part of buildings. The design allows them to be installed in the ground or fastened to a fence, walls etc. However, after the first week and a few showers of rain, one of six lamps fogged up from the inside and no longer turns on. The lights are pretty bright, but after 4 hours (approximately), the lights dim, even after a full day in the Florida sun. Conclusion: I do like the quality of the items - look to be very sturdy. However, due to one light failure and due to a relatively short time of bright light (the battery capacity is not enough to illuminate the area all night) I decided to return it and go with wired traditional landscape lights.
