My boyfriend was able to install this with black, exterior 30 lb double sided Gorilla tape, directly to the stucco trim around my garage door and under the soffit by about 6 to 8 inches. I was not sure how much sunlight it would get or need to activate it with motion. I am very happy with how it provides minimal light for the cars parked there and how it activates if there is any motion for added safety and visibility. We didn't use any of the screws for installation. It has been installed now through at least 5 or 6 really heavy rainstorms and there are no issues at all. I would recommend it.
My wife wanted some up-lighting to accent our giant Oak tree in the backyard - Good Idea! Too far away from the house to run low-voltage wires, so I went looking for a solar solution. As other reviewers have said, this product has impressive build quality, especially for the price. Relatively easy to install - the photo shows the solar panel mounted on the South side of our tree (away from the house.) So I had to run the wires to the lights themselves around the tree to light the other side. I now wish that I had bought the 4-light version, which is only slightly higher price. However, the 2 lights do a pretty good job - on evenings when we have had enough sunlight during the day. Living in the Pacific Northwest, that can be dodgy from day to day - especially in Winter. One thing I wish T-SUNUS offered would be an "extension cord" to allow for a bit more length between solar panel and lights when needed. I understand this would likely introduce some voltage drop, but a short extension should work OK. Overall a pretty well satisfied customer. EDIT: I have added a nighttime photo to show the tree illuminated. I am increasingly impressed by how well the solar panel / battery performs with limited sunshine. This evening photo was shot after a day with 5 hours TOPS of sunshine on the panel. Maybe 4 1/2.
Great pathway lights. I bought 2 eight-packs. They all work better than expected. You can choose between cool light or warm. Switching is a no-brainer. I hope they endure. One website advised to bring solar powered lights inside during cold months to increase the longevity. I am going to try that. The lights are entirely plastic, so I hope the clear portion weathers well. That being said, the pieces fit together snugly , so there is no wobble to make them cock-eyed when you secure them in the ground. There are two interlocking posts for each light. You can use one or both, or simply use the stake on the light for a different effect. At this point, I would highly recommend these lights!!
These lights measure up to about 5-in across, 4-in tall and 2-in thick, a bit smaller than what they appear to be in the picture. However, this doesn't cause any issues for my application. They do seem to be made well, with all of the LED's lighting up nice and bright and the plastic shell is very clear. ABS should hold up well in outdoor mounting situations and these should last for a good long while. The mounting holes are very self-explanatory and the kit comes with anchors and screws for both lights. Overall, a great deal.
Ever since I was a kid, I've been a fan of solar so it's great to finally see very practical uses of solar showing up for the homeowner. Bought two of these to light up the pitch black areas in the yard off of the sun room. WOW! Are they bright! Excellent, wide coverage too. Don't worry about mounting the bracket to the wall exactly level. The engineers of the thing left a little right-left play in the bracket to level the unit after mounting. Excellent! The length of the wire from the solar panel to the unit appears quite adequate for those who need to mount the solar panel farther away from the LED. I didn't measure the wire but I'm guessing at least 6 feet of total cable. I bundled the extra and just left it next to the solar panel on the roof of the sun room. The instructions say mount the photovoltaic panel facing north if you are in the northern hemisphere. That didn't make sense to me so I mounted the panels on top of the sun room facing west where I know they will get drenched with sun the latter part of the day. After mounting I was slightly worried that both units were defective. When I tried to do the initial setup after they'd been soaking up the sun for a few hours? Nothing. No lights or indication that were working. Uh-oh. I decided to let them sit for another day since we had slightly overcast skies. That evening I stepped off the sun room and....? (insert angelic voices here...) I got blasted with light! When I went to the check the other unit? No such result. The problem? There is a big power button rather awkwardly placed at the back of the unit sort of behind the bracket. Push it. You'll have to find the "clickety" part of the button to engage it. Assuming the light is fully charged be sure and NOT be looking into the LED panel when you push the button! (Insert laser-gun sound here....) So now that you know the unit is powered on you can begin fiddling with the duration and lux settings. For duration? You can have the light stay on anywhere from 3 seconds to a full 10 minutes with 8 time intervals in between. I putter around my garden at night quite a lot so I set mine for 10 minutes. Always comes on, stays on and never dims. Awesome! The lux setting determines how dark it has to be before the light will activate. Four different settings choices there. The higher the lux number? The sooner the light will turn on before total darkness. Adjusting each of these duration and lux options is a straight forward two button dance. Very nice. Green light indicates you are setting duration, red for lux. One complaint. These indicator lights are rather weak so you have to get at just the right angle to see whether you are setting lux or duration through the little indicator light hole. On the other hand, the red LED number setting light is bright and easy to see. The units physically adjust right to left, up and down and appear to have a decent range of motion. I needed to adjust mine a bit downwards to better catch the motion sensor as I plunge into the darkness. But the motion sensors work fabulously. It's become a family fun activity now to jump off the couch when the light comes on to see whether it's the spooky looking, stray, "earless" cat prowling around, an opossum, or a raccoon! The first two units I purchased almost two years ago and they are still going strong! Even after our famous Oklahoma weather abuse. The two original units have been through ice and snow storms, 100+ degree heat, and our torrential rains. After mounting the third unit on the sun room roof I examined the other two solar panels. I kid you not, they looked new. (See photo.) No seepage from the rain into the photovoltaics and even more impressive is that the glass part of the panel? Must be dust resistant. It looked very clear which of course helps the sun-to-electricity conversion efficiency. No warping on the case either. Hard to believe after our blistering summer temperatures here. The first two units I purchased were apparently sold by an outfit here called 'Microsolar". (npcpsolar.com says, no longer available.) The next one I just purchased was by "Robust Solar" because it appeared identical to the first two with one minor exception. The newer unit now has a white back plate underneath the solar panel instead of a black one. (Photos of both.) Smart. Means they absorb less heat and probably better for the photovoltaics. I'm so pleased with these units - especially their longevity and toughness - that I plan to buy more to light up other dark areas of the yard.
Love, love, love
Great value! Easy to instal on a 6x6 post. Just the right amount of light and profile.
My husband and I were looking into these lights and my Mother in Law was kind enough to gift them to us. We loved them for the first 2-3months when they were actually lit. After then, one or two would just not turn on at all. Few were dim. ALL are OFF now. We've replaced all the batteries. Few came back on for about 2 days. All are out again. Cannot find info on this iGlow company online anywhere. We haven't even had them a year. I am very saddened to have spent all this money for a product to work for only 2-3 months. Cannot find who to contact about this product. Photo shows 12 of the 16 post caps. As you can see, there's 1 dim one left....smh. Am I the only one? Linett T.
This pair of metal solar lanterns add a warm glow to outdoor living space and landscapes. They work equally well individually, maybe placed on a tabletop, or as part of a grouping, such as lined on porch steps or placed in a row along a deck railing. The lids that contain rechargeable solar batteries and lights are in theory replaceable, although I've been using a similar pair (possibly identical except for the exterior color, which is more bronzey) that I ordered from a different seller 13 months ago, and they are still going strong after four+ seasons outdoors, where they've tolerated lots of rain and wind, as well as some extreme heat and cold temps. Each lid includes a switch on the underside that allows you to toggle between the off position and either a cooler, whiter light or a warmer, more yellow one. I see other reviewer photos that show an example in more of an antique white over gold finish, but the pair I ordered was described as copper in color and the lanterns I received definitely have more of a coppery looking finish. At the current discounted price of about twenty-two dollars for the pair, and with the option to purchase a set of four at an even lower per-item price, I consider them a really good value, whether you're looking to brighten up your own space and/or are looking for unique but inexpensive gifts.
The photos show the covers are clouded and after charging in full bright sunlight for two days at 8-10 hours per day they were very weak and would not shine all night let alone 40 hours. Also, as you can see the 4 in between the two from a previous order from the same company are much, much lighter than the two on either end. I also ordered another 12 pack directly from Vevor and they are also defective just like the ones I bought from npcpsolar.com. I did get one 12 pack that worked good as you can see from the two very bright ones in the picture that are from that group.
I absolutely LOVE these. That's why I m giving 4 stars instead of 2 or 3. I use them to illuminate my hot tub and small pool areas for nighttime dips! I have purchased these 3x now, once in 2022 and then 2x in 2023. Pros: *They're gorgeous to look at *No wires or anything at all, just turn them off when done so they stay charged *No worries about bugs being attracted to them *They give off a lot of enough light so I can use them around my pool (with enough) of them so I don't need any other light source *No risk of fire *Unlike a teky torch, there's no maintenance! *You can bring them anywhere! I have brought mine to the beach once for my son's birthday and it was great! No worries about breaking any laws either! *You can adjust the height by taking the polls off (2 poles you can detach making it so you can use 1/2 height, normal height or just post them in the ground) Cons: *Each time I have purchased these, at least 2 stop working after about 2 months so you can't return them because it's over 30 days In conclusion, they're so lovely that I purchased them 3x after knowing that at least 2 of the 6 won't last by least 3 months. I just can't stop buying them though because they're just so nice, pretty and convenient. They're exactly what I need for myself. I've searched all over npcpsolar.com but found these to be the best as far as lighting and decor. If you decide to purchase these, I would suggest *Buying 2-3x the amount you need/want *BUY THE PROTECTION PLAN and keep the box!
These solar globes are absolutely amazing! They are large, sturdy, bright, & work as advertised. I own 2 sets (4 globes total) of the largest size (5.9 inch) in white. The 1st set I purchased was to put in front of my lions that guard my patio gate. I was immediately obsessed! I ordered a 2nd set to add to my patio decor & it immediately brought it to life! This is definitely a 5 start item & I highly recommend. I would also like to note that these globes are well packaged, but sometimes things happen. The 1st set I received arrived in tact. The 2nd set arrived shattered, but npcpsolar.com quickly shipped a replacement set (excellent customer service) that I received a couple days later. I returned the damaged set. The damages were not npcpsolar.com's fault, it was the shipper. All in all I am very pleased with this product & I'll be ordering another set to store as backup.
I got these to replace ones that stopped working. I really like the copper color but I feel it's going to fade quickly in the SC sun. They worked straight out of the box and give off a soft glow. Im going to order another set. Can't beat the price !
It was easy to install. The lights are very well made and easy to adjust and being there is two of them. I was able to get the light just right on my wishing well it goes on at night time and goes off at daytime. It’s beautiful of compliments from the people in our park.
These were all broken- box said damaged- wires just broken and not even connected- dirty stakes- and - supposed to be white and were colored! It had to be a mistake
