   UPDATE: As others mentioned the light housing (white area) discolors after installed/being outside for a while. They are still working but now look very ugly. I didn’t expect high quality but to discolor in about 6 months of install is disappointing. I will look to replace these with the more expensive ones in the spring. Good cheap temporary option. With the additional discoloration on the black solar part I don’t imagine it will work by spring INITAL INSTALL: The lights work really well. Once I got the hang of the twist off I got a good rhythm installing them. My post are not consistent some were all vintl over the wood others more wood st the top then vinyl. I put the lights on used a drill bit to pre-deillfor easier install especially thru the vinyl post us wood and it was a breeze. I drilled all 9 post starter holes first then switched out the bit and screwed them all in. I had an akward corner and the bottom rail post where i had to screw from a different aide then the rest and just took the tops off and turned them so they got more sunlight. I only needed 9 of the 12 and they all worked. The white is not the exact shade of my Veranda rails but it works and looks great! I installed about an hour or two before nightfall and despite little sunlight time they were lit for hours which was great. It gives off a nice amount of light as well. I could see the light over 60 feet away from the front of the house to the back

   The only issue we had was turning them on, you have to remove the cover, we figured out that if you give the cover a slight twist to the left or right, it helps to remove them. You will probably want to use better screws than the ones provided, we put our own screws in which have screw head covers, so it gave them a more finished look. They do work well and are bright.

   I bought the same brand about 2 years ago. This year I started having problems with the lights not working. 6 out of 18 quit working. Also lighting problems from the start.
   UPDATE. I received my new order from the same company a couple of weeks back. They have improved everything about these lights. I installed them on my PVC fence, they charged that day and worked strong until at least 4am. This was the last time I looked. All are still working fine, they are much better constructed than the first batch I bought. I realize I will get around 2 years and then spend about $160.00 for the next batch. To me it’s worth it. PS. Make sure you twist and remove the top to turn each light on before installation.

   After ordering these they looked very nice and were very easy to install but after 2 years they look like crap and they do not hold up good half of the lights don’t work

   Once we figured out how to twist off the top to access the on/off switch, the lights were very easy to install. They add brightness and beauty to our back garden.

   I love them!! They put off the perfect amount of light and they fit my 4×4 PVC fence perfectly. I would say I wish they had an off white option. Thanks to the TX sun, my white fence isn’t as white as if like it to be. I have ivy trellising so hopefully it won’t stand out too much!

   Also, I read the directions a dozen times and it didn’t say where the on/off switch was. So I uploaded a video to hopefully save someone else a few minutes finding the switch and how to get to it! Beware: it’s going to sound like you’re breaking it, you’re not! All 18 of mine made a horrible sound twisting them open.

   This is definitely easy to install and works like a charm on good sunny days. Some of the batteries that these were shipped with were dead and would not charge (even with a wall charger). I ended up replacing all of the batteries with energizer rechargeables as the battery capacity on the original rechargeables was not that great either. Now, if I have a great day of sun for the majority of the day, these will stay on all night long. They are definitely a great addition to the rear deck, patio and stairs. Definitely will buy more in the future when the lights on these die out!
