I bought these to replace identical ones I bought 10 years ago. Original ones still worked, but the batteries don’t last. I have replaced the batteries with a higher capacity cell. Easily done as it’s AA size. I will add them to other locations in my yard. They give the yard a nice glow equivalent to a full moon lighting the yard.

The casings are metal and the light is soft. One of the eight did not work. The company stated they would send a replacement. I will post if they don’t. We love the lights and recommend them. They provide light for our 12×14 deck with privacy panels as well as the stairs. The light is all night. Very happy so far.

I really like these deck-post cap lights. I have tried other ones in the past but they tended to look cheap and didn’t last long, either they would crack and break or they would deteriorate so much in appearance that I couldn’t stand looking at them any more, and the lights themselves didn’t have sufficient solar power to light up on the back deck in the winter. I bought a set of these ones a couple of years ago and they still work great and still look fantastic. So when I recently had an additional deck built to tie into the existing back deck, I bought another set of these. The older set has held up so well that you can barely tell the difference between the 2 year old set and the brand new set — they both look fantastic! They provide lots of light, even during winter when we have so little sunlight. They are also so easy to install that anyone can do it. I am very happy with these and would certainly recommend them.

Great solar lights. We put one every fence post, about 8′ apart, on 8 posts. Almost too bright with them all on. Great units. Lots of light. Pretty much maintenance free. Pricey, but worth all the pennies.

These easy to install solar lights provide just the right amount of light for the stairs on my deck. They’re mounted on wood posts on either side of the stairs leading off of my deck. They emit just enough light to illuminate the short stairway. There’s just enough light to see that my dog left his ball on the stairs for me to trip on, but not much more.. The light is a pleasant daylight white in color but it’s soft enough so as not to intrude on moonlit night time activities under the stars. If you’re looking for bright lighting to cook at night on the barbecue grill, these are not it. For that I suggest installing flood lighting. But as unobtrusive accent lighting I think these are perfect.
