   The light is VERY weak. It has one LED light in the lantern that barely makes it glow. Doesn’t provide enough light to light a path. The shape of the lantern and the glass used are great. It looks beautiful during the day.

   I really like this solar light. I have it on my back porch during the day and at night the light comes on. It is so pretty. I also have another one of these lights in a different shape. Really love the look of them. Since the days are shorter and the sun isn’t at the same angle they don’t get as much sun as they will in the summer so they don’t stay lit as long as I anticipate they will being under the summer sun. Time will tell.

   I love Solar garden lights and have owned many over the years. The lights made with glass are the best as they never discolor or deteriorate. This lantern is my most recent purchase and I couldn’t be more pleased. It provides a soft light that doesn’t attract bugs. The glass makes dappled shadows on the patio table and looks so nice. Highly recommend.

   I ordered this solar boaters lantern to try is out on our patio table. The size is perfect and the opaque white textured design covers just enough of the clear glass for the light to come through it at night. Subtle and pretty. It is heavier that I expected – probably because the glass is thick – which is nice. The bottom, top and hanger are shiny stainless and the solar panel on top blends in nicely. The packaging was helpful, as were the instructions inside. Clear and easy. All in all a very nice functional accent piece.

   It comes in three shapes – I will order one each of the other sizes to compliment this one – makes a nice trio. I would recommend this product to those with outdoor living areas big and small. Also makes a nice gift to boaters and those interested boats both classic and modern. A definite buy.

   I had really hoped this would work as supplemental light when we ate outside, something I could set in the middle of the table and get a little extra light. I didn’t expect it to be a 60w bulb, here, but something along the lines of a bright candle. No, this is a very weak light, nothing more than some ambiance, if you had several. Also, it is a much bluer light than I was expecting, not warm white at all.

   I was really pleased with this lantern. It holds its charge seemingly all night (and since I am usually still awake when the sun begins to come up in the morning, I have definately noticed) and while not extremely bright it is very beautiful and if you are looking for decorative solar outdoor light than this is a great deal, but it is important to remember really is not super bright so if you are looking for something that will serve in a more “functional” way than this would really be something I would recommend.

   I purchased a set of these lanterns years ago directly from Allsop, and each were beautiful with a heavily speckled blown glass look. After losing one of them in a windstorm, I decided to replace it and was thrilled to see that they were available on npcpsolar.com. When the lantern arrived, the picture on the box was identical to my old lanterns, but looked nothing like the new one which has a has a large splotchy pattern (not as pictured by the company). In addition, it has two seams (one on each side) which make it look molded and not like blown glass at all. Very unfortunate that the quality has deteriorated so much in the last few years. The company seems to be passing off this cheap version for their original lantern…very disappointing.
