I got this for a new mailbox I’ll be putting up later this year. I expect it will be on top, along with a set of solar-powered house numbers. It’s very substantial and feels like it’s well assembled. I tested it out and found the light to be nice and soft, with no harsh or hard edges to the shadows. The installation instructions were clear and well written. Made from thick stainless steel. This light can be powered two different ways. The first way is solar power and the second is hard wiring to ac power. I chose the solar power option since this was easier to do. This fixture has a nice updated look and has an adjustable light brightness feature.

I charged this up on a day with full sunlight and put it through its paces when it was fully dark. As the instructions said, after turning it on manually one time, it will then come on automatically and stay on until daybreak. If needed, you can manually set it to turn off after a set number of hours and you do have a choice of wavelengths and brightness.
While I found this a bit strange, you do have the ability to hard wire it to a high voltage electrical source. A simple improvement from the manufacturer would be to leave the high voltage wires inside the body of the lamp because it will not sit properly on top of the wires. I did this by removing 4 little screws and stuffing the wire inside and then replacing the base, no problem. BUT…be sure to make a mark on the body and the bottom of the base because they have to go back together just the way they were removed or the holes won’t line up right.

This light is pretty versatile, given the option to run it with wired AC power or Solar charging. I have inly used the solar option, as we’re using it at a mountain property where we have an off grid cMp site set up. It provides good ambiance for our camp, and helps to illuminate the path from our camper to the bathroom at night. It’s not super bright, but it works fine and the solar charging seems to do well, enough to keep the light on overnight after a days charge. We’ll see how it holds up over time, but so far so good.

This is a very large solar light, which can also be hard wired. It is 9.8 inches square, and 7 inches tall. With the remote, the light can be changed from warm white to bright white, and also to red. The light is not extremely bright, kind of a medium bright. I am not an expert on IP65 waterproof, but this light has holes in the bottom and the plastic panels have movement in them, and are not sealed. I could not find any information on the battery or if it can be replaced. If you hard wire this light, you need to purchase an E27 bulb and install it.

The multi functional aspect of this light, either via hard wiring or solar operation, is probably the best feature of this light. We are using it for solar power and it works just as advertised. The overall style won’t knock your socks off but it’s pleasant and the stainless steel material is durable meaning it should stand the test of time.
I was pleasantly surprised that the remote actually worked because I’ve had similar lights in the past and the remotes would not work. One thing to note is that the directions say to press “A” on the remote to get a warm light and pressing “B” you get a white light; however, I found this to be backwards. In my opinion “B” looks more like a warm light. Nonetheless, the light works fine but I was a little disappointed because I was hoping it would be a bit brighter. I think the four white plastic panels surrounding the light take away from the brightness and that maybe replacing them with clear plastic or glass would improve the brightness.
