I really love these but they are so wasteful.. No battery to replace or anything. One of them stopped working within 3 months. So, they are environmentlly stupid. A lot of plastic to throw away unless somebody knows something I don’t. Yes I cleaned the panel on top with a dry rag, makes no difference.

I set these out in full sun during the day and when put into the garden pathway at night, the warm, bright flickering glow looks real and continues until first light of dawn. The plastic posts and the torches themselves are made with thick, sturdy plastic. Nothing flimsy about the lights or the posts. My only concern is there is no visible means to open the housing on the torch light to change out spent solar batteries. Never dreamed this would be something I would have to throw away once the batteries no longer hold a charge. Does anyone know if the units can be opened to replace the solar batteries?

Bought these for 4th of July and they are a perfect accent to the yard! I have the plain white as well, so when I saw they had holiday colors, i jumped on them. I was so happy that they worked perfectly!

I purchased 4 of these for 1 house and 8 of these for another house within the past few months. Of the 12 purchased, 3 stopped working already and I could not get them to work again. So overall here is my experience:
1. They look nice and are worth the price when they are working
2. They appear to have durability issues so be aware
3. The manufacturer did immediately send me a refund for the 3 units without any issue and this was a nice plus

Seems standard that one of these won’t work; only three of them flicker. Even though the on/off test shows that the torch in on, at night time, it stays dark. Since this information isn’t included in any copy or description, be advised – these are plastic. Absurd original price for cheap plastic- over $60. Then after I bought them at a supposed 8 hr sale for $42, the price was permanently lowered to even less than I paid on sale. What a rip off. That said, the ones that work are very bright and flicker all night long, so I gave them a couple of stars for that. With the new lower price – $39 right now – and knowing that you risk getting a defective one, and know that they are plastic, you might want to buy a set since they do look great at night. I’ve staged mine in a different planters that are part of a group, and they’re a very unique garden feature.
