I was delighted when I saw this solar light! Living in the woods, the rust color is great with my house landscape and colors. It also matches a rusted metal fence we built. It is super heavy duty and will be durable in the rainy weather. It has a really heavy, strong metal take that screws into the bottom. The stake is powerful enough to easily hold the light in place. It is really bright, although my motion light came on when I was taking the pics, so it isn’t as apparent as to how bright it is. This light is beautiful and I already purchased a second on. Make sure and use the gloves (nice addition) they include to keep the rust off your hands! I highly recommend this solar light. It goes well in Western, lodge type houses or cabins.

I would totally disagree with some other reviews. I got this BECAUSE of its rusty weathered look. This look fits perfectly in with a garden type area. The light is pretty heavy and rugged and so should last for a long time. The spike used to hold it to the ground seems like it’d hold it though a hurricane. It’s also larger than I expected which is nice. I love that it’s solar since I don’t want to pay to run power to such things. It’s plenty bright enough for accent lighting but not so bright that it takes away from the beauty of the night. I like the small triangle of light it projects onto my walk to help you see where to place your feet.
It comes with gloves and, while you don’t need them if you don’t might a bit of rust on your hands, it’s a nice touch from the company. These lights are exactly as pictured and look great if it’s this type of look that you’re after.

This light fixture is literally rust. It will get on your hands, on your clothes, on your pets… if you haven’t had your tetanus shot, you would be wise to do so. This fixture really should have a faux finish or be clear-coated. Really, I’m not sure what to do with it. I get what they were trying to achieve. It is a heavy unit and should last for many years or at least as long as the electronics last. I do like the style of it. I’m not sure what to think about this product. I love it and I hate it. Your satisfaction will vary.

Important: Put the supplied gloves on to start. 2nd it’s best to handle this solar light outside because there is rust dust from shipping.
There are 3 pieces to this light. The base the solar panel (with switch) and the heavy duty ground stake. You do not need to remove the solar panel to switch it on. Eventually the square solar panel will need to be slid out to replacement batteries. The very heavy duty ground stake simply screws into the bottom of the base. I would suggest a couple drops of oil on the threads of both to make it easy to screw in due to the rust finish on the threads.
The light shape this projects out is really nice looking and will light up a good size area for your walkway. This solar light worked right out of the box and stayed lit all night with only a couple hours sunlight at most. Love it.

These lights are excellent, a significant upgrade to the dim plastic lights they replaced. I’m in the “love it” camp for the rusty color, but I agree that this should have been a faux finish rather than actual rust. They are quite expensive, and the “natural” finish seems more like a cop out than a technique. Other than that, I love them. They are extremely heavy, and have a large metal spike that screws into the bottom. These lights aren’t going anywhere, and they illuminate my path entrance perfectly.

I ordered two of these. One was perfect. The other had the glass broken which protect the light and from bugs getting inside. The light shifted as well coming unglued from its spot. I took it apart (easy enough with just a screw driver) and remounted the light with just crazy glue. Works fine so 3 out 5 stars. The thread on the stake is ROUGH so beware out that.
Obviously Made in China level of precision here. It’s not $400 lighting fixture though so you get what you pay for.
